Spring
Season 2008
May 7, 2008
Games that
have not been played
There are a number of
games that were postponed for various reasons. These are
changes that the league approved. We encourage teams to
reschedule these games and play them. Some, however, will
not be played because the teams can't find a mutually agreeable
time to play. It has been league practice to treat such
un-played games as non games. We do not charge
forfeits. However, if such a game would have an impact on
which teams eventually finishes in first or second place, we
will schedule the game and will then charge a forfeit if one
team does not play.
Mother's Day
Games
We are being flooded with requests to change games, or
notices that coaches have agreed to change games scheduled for
Sunday, May 11. We need to remind everyone that coaches
are not permitted to just agree to to change a scheduled game. They must make a request and they need to have a good reason for
making the change. We are aware that May 11 is Mother's
Day. We also have made it clear from the first day that we
posted information about the spring season that we do play games
on Mother's Day.

End of Season Awards
Every player in the novice divisions will receive a
participation award by the end of the season. Players on
the first and second place teams in the junior and senior
divisions also receive awards. Junior teams get
trophies. Senior teams get T shirts.
Use of Guest Players
It is apparent that some coaches are not reading the rules regarding use of guest
players. Any team using guest players must submit the form
by 5pm two days before the game in order for the players to be
eligible to play. Forms submitted on Sunday morning for a
Sunday afternoon game are not acceptable and the players listed
are not eligible to play that day. The rules also say
clearly that teams playing 11 v 11 are permitted to use 3 guest
players in any game and teams playing 8 v 8 are permitted to use
2 guest players. Some teams have been submitting forms
with 4 players on them. Using an extra player who is not
eligible to play will result in a forfeit and possible
sanctions.
Communication with the league office
The best way to communicate with the league administrator is by
E-mail. Phone calls will be returned but it could take
considerably longer than an email response. Most phone
messages will be responded to by email.
